RateMe 1.3.3

RateMe is a HotOrNot-like picture rating (image voting) script that uses MySQL as backend.

IMPORTANT NOTE

• Recently there were complaints that the RateMe script would have security lacks. It was true. Recent tests of the new version 1.3.3 showed that the script now is pretty save. Read the thread on the boards on this issue.
  

FEATURES

• MORE SECURE ADMIN CP
  In v1.3 RateMe uses sessions for admin cp login. Furthur you can view & delete existing items, view/delete their comments, add new items. Approve or reject new submitted items.
• PICTURE UPLOAD/LINKING
  RateMe lets you choose whether you want people to upload their pics or just linking to an existing URL. (Especially if you don't have much webspace)
• CHEATING PROTECTION
  RateMe is protected from multiple votes (from a person) on the same item either by use of cookie or IP logging. You can set the time until someone can re-vote on the same item to whatever you want.
• UNLIMITED CATEGORIES
  You can have as many categories as you need.
• PICTURE APPROVING
  Possibility to review newly submitted pictures first before being displayed. You can approve or reject them.
• PICTURE SIZE
  Adjustable max. picture size (pixels and bytes).
• TOP LISTS
  Dynamically generated toplists of every category.
• OVERVIEW/INDEX PAGE
  Overview page with all items in thumbnail size. You can set the number of items displayed per page (and even per row).
• MULTILANGUAGE
  All language specific data is stored in seperate language files. Currently there are english, german & dutch files. Easily editable.
• APPROVING NEW ITEMS
  You can turn on and off the ability to add new items. If turned on people can edit/delete their items later.
• COMMENTS
  If turned on people can write comments to items. Adjustable number of displayed comments (with option to view all). And recently added: flood protection!
• EASY IMPLEMENTATION/SETUP
  The script can be included everywhere into your site (you just need to do 2 'includes'). Colors, LookAndFeel of the script is easy adjustable. The script comes with an installer script that does the whole MySQL installation so that you don't need to create tables and stuff manually

• PLATFORMS
  The script best runs in a Unix/Apache/PHP/MySQL environment. (Not tested on Windows)
• PRICING
  RateMe costs 16.00€ (about 18.00 dollars , depending on the exchange rates). Use PayPal BuyNow button (top-right corner) to purchase it. In case that you don't have PayPal use the bank account details and send CHF 25.00 (swiss francs!) to my bank account. Don't forget to email me that you did a payment by bank transfer!
  
• DELIVERY
  Script is sent by email immediately after successful payment. The script is attached as zip file to the email you're sent. So if your mailserver should filter out the zip file by mistake please let me know!
  Important: eCheck payments have to be cleared first before script is delivered!!
• UPGRADING
  If you already have a prior version of RateMe you can ask me for v1.3.1 for free (upgrade@planetluc.com).
